Just imagine signing up for an email marketing platform, planning to purchase a paid plan, and then suddenly discovering that your account has been suspended even though you haven’t sent a single email. There customer service is nightmare and instead of my information they back to me with someone else data and claiming its mine.

That’s exactly what happened to me with Brevo.

This is not speculation or hearsay. This is a real experience that happened to me and I want to document it publicly because situations like this can happen to anyone

Why I Signed Up for Brevo.com

As someone working in digital marketing and link building, I often test different SaaS tools to see which ones are worth using for campaigns.

A few days ago, I created an account on Brevo using my business email because I wanted to explore their email marketing platform and possibly purchase a paid plan.

However, due to a busy work schedule, I didn’t get the chance to upgrade immediately.

I logged around 2 days later in the meantime

I didn’t send a campaign.
I didn’t upload a list.
I didn’t use the platform beyond signing up.

The Surprise: My Account on Brevo.com was Suspended

The next day I logged into my account, I saw something completely unexpected.

My account had been suspended.

At first, I assumed this must be some kind of technical mistake. After all, I had not even used the platform yet.

So I contacted Brevo support to ask a simple question 2/3 days later:

Why was my account suspended and if they can fix it?

Brevo Support Conversation That Shocked Me

Within about an hour, I received a reply from a support agent named George G.

Instead of explaining the issue, they started asking me about several things that made absolutely no sense.

They mentioned:

  • A mobile phone number that was not mine
  • A website that I do not own
  • A email i never owned

At this point, I was honestly confused.

None of the information they mentioned had anything to do with me.

So I replied clearly:

Those details are not related to me or my account.

Brevo Trying to Fix the Situation

After my response, the support team asked me to provide the correct information.

So I cooperated and sent them the accurate details related to my account.

I even asked politely:

“Please let me know if this information is enough or if you need anything else from my side.”

At this point, I believed the misunderstanding would be resolved.

Unfortunately, that’s not what happened.

The Final Reply: “Your Brevo Account Is Banned”

Instead of resolving the issue, I received a final response saying that my account had been banned.

No detailed explanation.

No clarification.

Just a ban.

And the most surprising part?

I never sent a single email campaign.

The account was banned while still on the free plan, before any real activity even started.

The Most Frustrating Part

The biggest issue here is not the suspension itself.

It’s the fact that the support team initially shared incorrect information that was not related to my account.

Yet somehow that incorrect information was used to make a decision about banning my account.

From my perspective, it felt like I was being judged based on someone else’s data.

Why I’m Sharing This Story

I work with many SaaS tools and marketing platforms, and I understand that automated security systems sometimes make mistakes.

But banning an account:

  • without sending a campaign
  • without violating any clear rule
  • and based on incorrect information

is something that should not happen without proper investigation.

A Message to SaaS Platform

If there’s one takeaway from this experience, it’s this:

Account bans should always involve careful verification.

Mistakes can happen in any system, but when someone is banned based on potentially incorrect information, it damages trust between users and the platform.

Adding Few recent Customers reviews about Brevo on Trustpilot

and Here are few more recent customers feedback

There customer support doing terrible job we can easily see that. You guys burn tons of money for ads but dont have proper customer support . The brevo customer support is nightmare from my point of view.

I am going to try others option as my luck with brevo end badly .

Final Thought

I originally signed up for Brevo because I was interested in using their platform and possibly purchasing a paid plan. Instead, the experience ended with a permanent ban before I even started using the tool.

I hope sharing this experience helps bring attention to how important fair and accurate account reviews are. Because situations like this shouldn’t happen to any user.

When I signed up for Brevo, I intended to test the platform and eventually upgrade to a paid plan. Instead, the experience ended with my account being banned before I even had the chance to send a single email.

Sharing this story is not about attacking a platform. Its an chance to to fix there problem and make it more user-friendly.

Hopefully, stories like this encourage platforms to double-check user information before making permanent decisions.
